Short Description: This session is for gifted specialists and coordinators who want to learn how to use multiple data sources to create class clusters and course placements for middle school students. The session teaches participants how to use an MTSS lens by collecting and using multiple data points. Participants will leave with immediate information they can apply in their local schools.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will learn what MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) is and how to use it in the context of gifted students.
Participants will learn how to apply multiple data sources to make instructional decisions for student cluster and course placement.
Participants will learn how to create and utilize local data norms if the District does not currently have that capability.
