Short Description: Learn strength-based strategies for supporting 2e youth in the "Five Environments:" Physical, Intellectual, Creative, Social, and Emotional. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the complex needs of 2e youth in each environment and concrete ways to help them thrive at home and at school. The practical strategies are grounded in theories that promote engagement, intrinsic motivation, and overall well-being.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will understand the complex needs of 2e youth in the five environments: physical, intellectual, creative, emotional, and social.
Attendees will learn effective strength-based strategies for supporting 2e youth in the five environments: physical, intellectual, creative, emotional, and social.
Attendees will learn how the Self-Determination Theory, and its concepts of autonomy, competence, and relatedness; and the Polyvagal Theory, and the concept of co-regulation, are important for 2e support.
