Short Description: We will first share the current progress made in revising the 2013 Advanced Standards in Gifted Education Teacher Preparation. Next, participants will form small groups, choosing a standard to review, discuss, and describe possible ways that the standard might be revised and implemented. Participants will share their discussions and make recommendations for implementations and any revisions to the standards.

Learning Objectives:

Describe the Advanced Standards in Gifted Educator Preparation.
Use these standards as a framework for identifying gifted educators’ knowledge and skills, for developing advanced coursework for gifted educators, and developing professional learning opportunities.
Provide feedback to assist in the revision of the Advanced Standards.
