Short Description: Advanced or gifted students often present the need for intervention in preschool/kindergarten yet districts often don’t identify or support students until later years. We provide support for identifying potential for advanced learning experiences and academic achievement; supplying high quality, developmentally appropriate, differentiated learning opportunities that can easily be incorporated into any curriculum; and resources to advocate in your district.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will analyze and evaluate research-based best practices to identify tools to determine need for advanced learning opportunities for young students.
Participants will explore resources provided to extend/enrich any curriculum, including utilizing state standards.
Participants will gain ideas for how to advocate and build a network of support for young advanced and gifted learners.
