In this special session, participants will experience brief gifted learning snapshots of those who participated in the Professionals Learning and Understanding Gifted (PLUG) course, providing professional learning credit to Pennsylvania administrators and other professionals. Each PLUG participant will share a brief learning adventure from the course and the application in their school context.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will learn how leaders in PA identify and explain the key requirements and regulations outlined in Pennsylvania's Chapter 16 and Chapter 4 concerning comprehensive planning, Gifted Education Plan Assurances, and Gifted Cyclical Compliance.
Participants will be able to develop and utilize a needs assessment specific to their district or charter school's gifted education programming to inform the creation of a targeted Action Plan for improvement.
Participants will learn how leaders apply knowledge of PA Leadership Standards and gifted education law to create and present a Survey/Needs Assessment and Action Plan, demonstrating their understanding of compliance and strategies for enhancing gifted education services to increase student achievement within their school context.
