Short Description: Twice Exceptional Boys and Their Disconnect with School: A Roadmap to Getting It Right will help participants learn abut the challenges of this group of talented but perplexing students. If not planned for and properly supported, twice-exceptional boys will often develop significant problems, including the possibility of dropping out of school.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will examine why twice exceptional boys have specific issues not frequently found in gifted girls.
Attendees will create a customized educational plan for a 2e boy with educational strategies that not only address his area of need but his significant area(s) of strength.
Attendees will apply helpful guidelines and suggestions for understanding emotional intensity, hands on learning, expressing curiousity, questioning, and coping skills, and the roles these dynamics play in 2e boys' lives.
