This session will guide teachers toward creating engaging lessons that center student's identities and lived experiences while empowering them to develop informed perspectives and viewpoints on various social justice issues, past and present. Through the lens of novel studies, educators will explore how literature can be used not only to build literacy skills, but also to foster critical thinking and media literacy.
