Erica Baer-Woods, MRESC Director of Student Achievement, brings a wide array of experiences and perspectives to her work. An honors graduate of The Ohio State University, and Wright State University, Erica’s 25 years in education span grades 3-12 (14 years) and administration. Her work includes: creating honors, AP, and college-level ELA curriculum; increasing regional gifted services (both in quantity and quality); crafting hybrid, research-based gifted PL; instituting our Ignite student leadership conferences; and collaborating with Ohio colleagues.
Passionate about learning, travel, and effecting positive change, Erica frequently particpates in service opportunities both nationally and internationally. Erica’s travels to and work with students across cultures and contexts have helped her to understand that, though students’ situations may differ, at their core, all children deserve the opportunity to grow, to thrive, and to become their personal best.
Erica's current service includes: Ohio Association for Gifted Children's (OAGC) President and OAGC Coordinator Division Region 4 Representative; Ohio Gifted Advisory Council; OTES 2.0 trainer and R-Factor coach. Erica's educational awards include: district SALT leadership award (2006); Miami County Excellence in Education (2010); and OAGC's Gifted Coordinator of the Year (2021).
