Dr. Orla Dunne is Assistant Professor at the School of Inclusive and Special Education at Dublin City University, where also manages academic programmes for Centre for Talented Youth, Ireland (CTYI). Orla holds a doctorate in educational leadership, with a focus on the experiences of gifted LGBTQ students. Her research on gifted LGBTQ adolescents has been published in multiple journals and gifted education textbooks. She presents at conferences globally, lectures on the university graduate programme in inclusive education and is a regular guest speaker for gifted education organisations in Europe and the United States. At CTYI, Orla has spent ten years developing staff training, policy and supports for the Centre’s LGBTQ students. She is currently designing the first postgraduate programmes on gifted education in Ireland.
