With over 20 years of experience in gifted education, Jessica Harris has dedicated her career to supporting advanced learners and promoting equity. Her passion for nurturing gifted potential has guided her path through various roles in Virginia public school divisions.
Jessica currently serves as a Divisional Gifted Coordinator for Henrico County Public Schools, guiding secondary advanced programming. She has also held positions as a Gifted and New Teacher Coordinator, Resource Teacher, and Zone-Center Teacher, which provided her with a comprehensive understanding of talent identification, service models, professional learning, and curriculum development across the state.
Jessica completed her Ed.D. in Gifted Education Administration at William & Mary, where her research focused on cultivating psychosocial skills and designing curricula for students with gifts and talents.
In addition to her work in the classroom and district, Jessica has actively contributed to Virginia Gifted as an executive board member. Jessica is committed to advocacy and provides professional learning opportunities for parents, educators, and administrators at the district, regional, state, and national levels.
Through her diverse experiences and ongoing scholarship, Jessica remains committed to advocating for advanced learners and fostering equitable opportunities for students with gifts and talents to thrive.
