Meredith Wisniewski is in her 15th year at Phelps Center for Gifted Education in Springfield, Missouri. Prior to joining Phelps she was with the gifted program for Fulton Public Schools for three years after spending three years as an elementary school teacher. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, gifted certification grades K-12, and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri. In addition she holds both a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Missouri State University and certification as a K-12 principal; in 2017, she was one of the administrators for the Phelps Center’s summer program. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum from the University of Missouri. A former recipient of the Bob Roach New Teacher of Gifted Scholarship from the Gifted Association of Missouri (GAM), she has spent the last several years on the leadership team for GAM’s New Teacher Workshop. After serving as a district director and as both the Membership Vice-President, Executive Vice-President, and President for GAM, she is now the Legislative and Advocacy Chair
