Dr. Constance Faith Horton has spent over 25 years dedicated to a career in education and serving marginalized communities - a calling that defines her life’s work. Starting as a school-based social worker, she has led numerous educational and social service programs, served as an educational consultant, CEO of an educational non-profit, school principal, Executive Director of a charter school organization, and Assistant Superintendent in the School District of Philadelphia.
Dr. Horton’s leadership experience in public, independent, and charter schools, as well as higher education, inspires her work and her advocacy for educational equity. Rooted in the deep belief that every child deserves an outstanding education, that an education should be both informative and empowering, and that a rigorous, high-quality education is transformative in nature, Dr. Horton’s practice seeks to ensure that all students realize their full potential. With passion, persistence, and a great sense of
purpose, she has worked unapologetically to create, grow, turn-around, revitalize, and improve organizations and schools in both the Greater Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas - expanding educational
opportunities for all students.
Her research, advocacy, and consulting in the gifted education space is dedicated to ensuring high performing, intellectually curious, hardworking, and brilliant Black, Brown, and underserved children -some identified as mentally gifted, all worthy of high-quality instruction - receive the excellent education they deserve.
Dr. Horton is a resident of North Philadelphia and earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Temple University, where her research centered on gifted education. She is also the proud parent of her daughter, Imani, an urban gardener and an avid reader.
