Sojung Kim is a doctoral student and graduate assistant in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership at William & Mary. Her research examines how systemic barriers in education policy affect access to gifted students, particularly for students from low-income and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Drawing on her professional background in K-12 English education in South Korea, she has worked closely with students from marginalized communities and brings this experience to her scholarship. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on gifted education, equity in education, and culturally responsive pedagogy. Through her work, she aims to expand educational opportunities for gifted students through equity-driven and culturally responsive practices.
