Abigail “Abby” Riead is a high school senior at Mountain Vista High School in Colorado, dedicated to raising youth voices in GT education and making school a better place for students nationwide. As a leader of her school’s student-led GT board, she has fronted many projects including launching the annual MVHS GT Expo in 2024, Co-founding the National Gifted and Talented Student Advocacy Board, and twice representing student perspectives at the National Education Redesign Conference in Washington D.C. Being a young student who stands up for the needs of herself and others, she empowers students to do the same and to create their own frameworks for student representation. Working alongside her peers, Carter FitzGerald and Caleb Olson, she calls for reform in the GT program, speaking out for inclusion, mental health, and student advocacy.
