Pam Shaw is President and Policy and Advocacy Committee Co-Chair of the Illinois Association for Gifted Children, Treasurer of the Chicago Gifted Community Center, and Vice President of the Board of Education for Fremont School District 79 in Mundelein, Illinois. She served on the Illinois State Board of Education’s Advisory Council on the Education of Gifted and Talented Children from 2016-2018.
Pam received her Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music from Trinity University in San Antonio. Advocating for her twice-exceptional children inspired her to pursue a Master of Education in Special Education with an emphasis in Gifted Education from the University of Missouri via their fully online program, which she received in December 2020.
Pam is Senior K-12 Quality Assurance Manager at Quality Matters (QM), the global organization leading quality assurance in online and innovative digital teaching and learning environments. She taught music appreciation and middle school science courses for Illinois Virtual School for nine years before coming to QM. Quality Matters, the Virtual Learning Leadership Alliance (VLLA), and DLAC provide joint oversight of the National Standards for Quality Online Learning (NSQ).
