Dr. Kelly Schultz directs the Academically Talented Youth Program at Western Michigan University where she teaches AP Computer Science for ATYP. She earned her bachelor's degree in computer science from Western Michigan University, her master's degree in mathematics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (the hockey capital of the south), her master’s degree in education leadership from WMU, and her Ph.D. in mathematics from WMU. Kelly is a past president for the Michigan Association for Gifted Children and is the current Programs co-chair. She has sat on the advisory board for Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development. She gives many talks on gifted education including at the National Association for Gifted Children’s annual conferences. The two most requested talks are on Organization Challenges for Gifted Students and Developing Life Skills that Matter. She has been published in Images, the newsletter for the Michigan Association for Gifted Children and Northwestern University's Talent newsletter. She is blessed with two adult sons—Alec and Nathan—and a wonderful husband, Martin.
