Dr Juliana Tay is currently an Assistant Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in the Department of Educational Studies. She earned her MA and PhD degrees in gifted education from Purdue University in the US. Before starting her studies at Purdue, she worked as an educator in Singapore for 11 years, teaching students with gifts and talents in visual arts as well as developing programmes and curricula that met the needs of these students. At Purdue University, she was also a coordinator for enrichment programmes and summer camps for young children with gifts and talents. Before joining XJTLU, she worked as a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, where she was part of a team studying the use of digital game-based learning approach on working adults. Juliana’s research interests include working with students with gifts and talents, evaluation of educational programs, and the use of technology in education.
