Elementary Gifted and Talented Teacher
Mesa County Valley School District #51 Grand Junction, Colorado
Fruita, Colorado, United States
Meredith Thornhill has been teaching elementary gifted and talented students for eight years. She is especially passionate about supporting twice-exceptional and neurodivergent learners and helping others understand these often-misunderstood terms. As a neurodivergent educator with ADHD, Meredith brings firsthand insight into the unique strengths and challenges her students experience.
Her dedication to this work led her to earn a Certificate in Cognitive Diversity from Bridges Graduate School, and she continues to expand her knowledge to better serve this niche population. With a background in psychology and education, Meredith approaches teaching with empathy, curiosity, and a deep commitment to understanding the “why” behind behaviors. She believes that every challenging behavior is an opportunity to uncover a student’s unmet need and help them thrive.
