Teagan Taylor is an AIG Lead Teacher within Gaston County Schools in North Carolina. Mrs. Taylor tests/identifies and works with gifted/talented students in grades K-5, as well as mentors AIG teachers. Previously, she taught 4th grade math/science at Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy (a charter school for highly gifted students in Charlotte, NC), was a gifted coordinator in Mead School District (Mead, WA), and was a middle school science teacher and gifted coordinator at ASPIRA Academy (Newark, DE). Mrs. Taylor has her Bachelors in Elementary Education from
the University of Delaware, earned her Masters in Gifted Education from Whitworth University, and recently became a National Boards Certified Teacher (Gifted Education). She has participated in amazing educational opportunities, including teaching dance in China, working as a graduate assistant for Dr. Jann Leppien during her studies at Whitworth University, and traveling to Arctic Svalbard as a National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow. Her passions include serving the diverse needs of gifted students, as well as nerding out on important scientific topics, such as the changing climate crisis. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and almost two year old son, hiking trails, and being the biggest Disney fan!
