Short Description: Anyone driving in a downtown setting knows how awful it is to be stuck in tunnel traffic. Likewise, anyone teaching advanced students knows how awful it is to be stuck using a required, prescriptive curriculum that does not provide appropriate challenge. In this presentation, we will discuss fidelity of implementation, defensible modifications, and how you can justify changes to anyone evaluating your instruction.
Learning Objectives:
Describe fidelity of implementation and how it works in regard to curriculum.
Identify the questions and information needed to make defensible, appropriate modifications to a curriculum model.
Modify required, prescriptive curriculum so that it does not impact fidelity and provides students with appropriate challenge.
