Short Description: Professional learning (PL) can be a catalyst to improve advanced education and close excellence gaps in districts. In this session, we present findings from a systematic review in which we examined and synthesized 31 studies on PL for U.S. educators focused on advanced education. We will share promising PL characteristics and how they relate to positive teacher and student outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

Session attendees will examine previously studied characteristics of professional learning (PL) targeted at advanced learning.
Session attendees will understand which characteristics of PL are associated with various teacher and student outcomes.
Session attendees will identify ways to design and implement effect PL in their distinct contexts.
