Co-Chair
Warren County Consortium for Student Enrichment
Port Murray, New Jersey, United States
Kristin Baker, Ed. S., co-chairs the Warren County for Student Enrichment, facilitating the coordination of student events, parent outreach, and professional development. She co-chaired the NJDOE Programs Subcommittee for Strengthening Gifted and Talented Education, and presented several Equity Audit sessions for the NJ Principals and Supervisors Association. A frequent speaker at state conferences including NJAMLE, AMTNJ, ECET2, and NJAGC, Ms. Baker has served several terms as VP Programs for the NJ Association for Gifted Children and chaired NJAGC's Professional Development Committee for several years.
Ms. Baker teaches at Mansfield Township School in Port Murray, NJ, where she has served as a classroom teacher, developed and taught the Gifted & Talented and Enrichment program, and has also served as Lead Teacher and Acting Principal. She was recognized in 2017 as Warren County Teacher of the Year and NJAGC Educator of the Year.
Ms. Baker’s insights into the competing agendas and inherent conflicts of time and territory navigated by GT teachers are based on over two decades of service and leadership in public schools. While NJDOE allows for local choice in delivery of gifted services, Ms. Baker is a proponent of the powerful continuum model, providing multiple portals to student growth.
