Laurie Croft, Ph.D., is a Clinical Professor Emeritus of Gifted Education, having had the opportunity to work at the Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education & Talent Development at the University of Iowa for 26 years. She has made presentations at various state, national, and international conferences, and to parent groups, teachers, and school boards. As well, she has experience facilitating professional development in gifted education for educators from around the world and has published chapters about various topics in several recent books in the field. She served as a liaison to the Iowa Talented and Gifted Association Board for over a decade. She served on the NAGC Board of Directors for six years, and In 2019, Laurie received the NAGC Distinguished Service Award.
Her ongoing research interests include the conceptual foundations of gifted education/talent development, professional learning for teachers of advanced learners, and developing problem-finding and problem-solving skills of students. She is excited to continue her learning with her three-year old twin grandchildren!
