Carter FitzGerald is a passionate Gifted and Talented advocate and high school senior at Mountain Vista High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He is committed to advocating for Gifted and Talented programming, with a focus on secondary education. He strives to uplift all GT student voices through his role as the President and Co-Founder of the National Gifted and Talented Student Advocacy Board. Carter advocates for student agency through presenting at conferences such as the Johns Hopkins School of Redesign conference, the Douglas County School District GT Facilitator Professional Development Conference, and the Colorado Association for Gifted and Talented Conference (CAGT). Carter is also an advocate at a local level, being heavily involved in the Mountain Vista GT Student Board, where he organizes events like the GT Expo, giving students opportunities to express their passions and pathways for the future. Carter aims to foster a strong sense of advocacy among all GT students, and promote real, lasting change that directly benefits the lives of the students.
