Bio for Felicia A. Dixon, Ph.D.
Felicia Dixon is Professor of Educational Psychology Emerita at Ball State University. She has directed the master’s degree program in educational psychology and the license/endorsement in gifted education. She received her doctorate from Purdue University and specializes in gifted education. Author of more than 40 articles and chapters, she co-edited the important Handbook of Secondary Gifted Education in 2006, its second edition (2015), and the third edition in 2025. Additionally, she edited the NAGC service publication, Programs and Services for Secondary Gifted Students (2008). She received the Early Scholar Award from NAGC in 2004, was a member of the Board of Directors of NAGC ,and Chaired the Task Force on Secondary Gifted Education, The NAGC Awards Committee, and the Advisory Board for THP. She is a member of the Gifted Education Resource Institute Advisory Board at Purdue and serves on the BBPC for Indianapolis Public Schools as well. She has conducted program evaluations, taught all courses for the license in gifted education, and consulted nationally and internationally on topics concerning secondary gifted education.
