Ms. Heller is President of Tri-County GATE Council, an executive board member of Gold Coast CUE, and an education consultant specializing in gifted education and inquiry/PBL. She has 26 years of experience in elementary and middle school humanities. She served many years as a Gifted Education Coordinator and a Diversity and Equity Task Force Coordinator. She contributed to the book, Teaching for Racial Equity: Becoming Interrupters (2022) and the Equity & Access online journal for the American Consortium for Equity in Education. Ms. Heller regularly presents best practices in gifted education, inquiry, and use of educational technology at conferences and schools throughout the U.S. She is GATE certified and holds multiple subject and reading specialist credentials, a master’s degree in Language and Literacy, and a bachelor's degree in Ethnic Studies. Ms. Heller was Gold Coast CUE's Outstanding Educator for 2020 and has also served as the Director of the Oak Park Inquiry Institute, English Department Chair, district Peer Coach, and district Technology Innovator.
