Laura Kelly has served as the Supervisor of Gifted and Advanced Programs & RtI for Roanoke City Public Schools for the past 11 years. With 29 years of experience in public education, she has held a wide range of roles that reflect her passion for teaching and learning. Laura began her career as a PALS tutor before moving into the classroom as a Kindergarten and 2nd grade teacher. She later served as a Technology Resource Teacher, Reading Specialist, Gifted Resource Teacher, Instructional Coach, and Principal on Ocracoke Island, North Carolina.
Laura has been married for 41 years and is the proud mother of three grown children and grandmother to three grandsons. She currently lives at Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, where she enjoys sailing, paddleboarding, or simply spending time near the water.
