Gifted & Talented Director
Hulbert Public Schools
Hulbert, Oklahoma, United States
Rachel Mint Purget was born in Oklahoma and is tribal member of the Cherokee Nation. She’s been in the classroom since 2003 and currently serves as the Gifted and Talented Director and Instructor for 3rd-12th grade. With a bachelors in Education and a master’s in Administration, she brings creativity, energy, and a whole lot of real world connection into her teaching. She’s known for mixing things up, whether that’s turning a Science lesson into a dance routine or taking her students indoor skydiving to learn how to calculate velocity and wind speed. Her favorite kind of teaching makes students curious and excited to learn. Outside the classroom, Rachel owns a social media company that manages content for nonprofits across Oklahoma, Texas, and California. She loves using what she learns through media and her travels to bring fresh ideas and global perspectives back to her students. When she’s home, Rachel works alongside her husband, sister and her husband, and their boys to help run their family farm, raising Black Angus beef. Lessons from farm life always find their way into the classroom, because a good teacher can turn just about anything into a learning experience.
