Chris Rice, MA, CAS, is the Advanced Learning Services Psychologist for the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) in the Raleigh, NC area. He is in his 9th year as a school psychologist having worked with students aged 3-21. Mr. Rice also serves as the Vice President and as the legislative liaison for the North Carolina Association for the Gifted and Talented. His professional and research interests include: using data to make equitable identification and service delivery decisions for gifted students; advanced learning/gifted education through MTSS; identifying and supporting 2e learners; and building the capacity of student support specialists (e.g., school psychologists, counselors, etc.) in supporting the gifted students in their buildings. All of Mr. Rice's work centers around the notion that demographic data should not preclude students from getting a high quality education and the supports they need!
