Gifted and Talented Facilitator
Douglas County Public Schools
Castle Rock, Colorado, United States
With 28 years of experience in education, I currently serve as the Gifted and Talented Facilitator at Mountain Vista High School in Douglas County Public Schools, located in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Over the past five years, my focus has been on supporting high-ability learners by designing opportunities that promote both academic challenge and emotional well-being. To elevate student voice and leadership, I facilitate the Gifted and Talented Student Advisory Board at MVHS—an initiative that empowers students to advocate for their own learning needs and lead student-centered projects that foster agency, belonging, and connectedness.
Throughout my career, I have held a variety of roles, including Professional Learning Specialist, ESL Teacher, Administrator, and classroom teacher at both the elementary and middle school levels. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science/Reading from Metropolitan State College of Denver, where I earned my teaching certification. I have a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado and a second Master’s in Educational Leadership from Adams State University.
I am licensed in Elementary Education (K–6) and English Language Arts (K–12), and I hold endorsements in Gifted and Talented Education and ESL through the Colorado Department of Education, along with a Principal License.
