Short Description: Parents must both understand and advocate for the needs of their twice-exceptional (2e) children. We aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of 2e characteristics, common challenges, identification, assessment, and effective individualized strategies for strength-based support. We will empower collaborators (students, parents, and school personnel) to create inclusive and nurturing learning environments that foster their academic, social, and emotional growth.
Learning Objectives:
Increased awareness and understanding of 2e learner characteristics and identification/assessment struggles.
Practical strategies for supporting 2e students in the classroom and at home, rooted in strength-based techniques.
Empowerment of parents to effectively advocate for the needs of 2e learners including specific collaboration and communication tools.
