Short Description: Gifted students fuel our future and need champions with vision, tenacity, and collaboration. This session outlines strategies for educators, parents, and stakeholders to build strong programs for gifted learners supported by a focus on students' specific academic, social, and emotional needs. Activities include planning family night, creating an advocacy plan to present to legislators, and supporting secondary gifted students.
Learning Objectives:
Develop a five-year strategic vision to encompass the goals and mission of supporters of gifted students in the area of focus.
Examine an example of community actions (family gifted night) and outline how to implement the activity in the community.
Create a list of possible corporate sponsors and activities to align with the specific community in the area of focus.
