Dr. Abdullah Azzam Tuzgen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling at Boğaziçi University. He completed his PhD in Gifted Education at Purdue University, where he also worked as research, teaching, and grad asssistant at the Gifted Education Research and Resource Institute. His research focuses on the social and emotional development of gifted students, perfectionism, and counseling interventions tailored to high-ability youth and their families. Dr. Tuzgen has extensive experience teaching undergraduate and graduate counseling courses, and he actively contributes to both national and international discussions on gifted education, school counseling, and counselor training. He is currently leading a research project titled “Coping with Perfectionism: Education Program for Youth with Gifts and Talents”, funded by Boğaziçi University with a grant of $13,000.
