Deborah Gennarelli, a former gifted education specialist, is now a gifted/2e consultant with her company Smart Strategies, LLC.
She has over 35 years of experience as an educator working in public and private settings with diverse student populations in three states. Her expertise includes supporting K-12 gifted students academic, social, and emotional needs and supporting teachers and parents of gifted students.
As a gifted intervention specialist, Deborah developed gifted education programs in multiple districts. These important programs ensured smart students were offered a variety of options to meet their needs in school ranging from curriculum compacting, mentorships, and acceleration.
Deborah has received three different district 'Teacher of the Year' awards and 'All-County Teaching Team' award for her work to advance gifted education in schools. She has also written two books- Twice Exceptional Boys: A Roadmap to Getting it Right (2022) and Navigating Neurodiversity: My Journey as a Twice Exceptional Adult (2024).
She currently works with parents to guide them on their journeys raising gifted and twice- exceptional children in public and private school settings. She also provides professional development to school districts on a variety of gifted topics.
