Sarah Miller is the Associate Director of the Roeper Institute, a separately incorporated not-for-profit corporation affiliated with The Roeper School, which functions to advance the core values and ideals of the Roeper philosophy both within the school and in partnership with the larger community. Currently, the primary work of the Roeper Institute is to increase educational equity in SE Michigan by building capacity for public schools to identify and serve their own gifted and talented students. This work has been greatly enhanced by a Jacob K. Javits grant awarded in 2022 in conjunction with Detroit Public Schools Community District, for which Sarah serves as the Project Manager. She is also a Social Justice Educator and Facilitator. Sarah does curriculum development and presents on a range of topics with particular interest in service learning, white anti-racism ally work and connecting historic injustice to current oppression. She is also the mom of two gifted children, ages 23 and 19.
